Composition / Construction: Our Log Beds are made using mortise and tenon construction. Cedar is the natural choice because of its beauty, practicality and durability. Rustic Cedar uses only the finest cedar to create furniture that lasts for generations. It is naturally resistant to decay, insect and weather damage. Because of this superior resistance, cedar is frequently used for outdoor fencing, and siding on homes. Cedar has an exceptionally high strength-to-weight ratio, which means that it is both durable and easy to move about. It does not shrink or wrap as many other woods commonly do. Unlike pressure-treated wood furniture, Rustic Cedar uses no chemical preservatives that may be harmful to your family's health.

Assembly: All of our beds are delivered partially assembled (in knock-down form) and require some easy assembly with common household tools. Dressers, Armoires and Nightstands ship fully assembled.

Finish: Natural Unfinished Cedar’s beauty, practicality, and durability prove it to be a superior choice for furniture. When left in the sun, its creamy white color gracefully weathers to a silvery gray. The Western Red Cedar found in the Arbors and Garden items likewise naturally ages from its rusty red to Rustic Cedar’s characteristic gray. All Rustic Cedar items may be used indoors or out, and may be painted or stained as desired.

Options / Upgrades: This item is not customizable. Headboard ONLY also available, order select size above. Additional metal center supports for your rustic cedar log bed are also available if needed. These are not necessary for twin and full sizes, and optional but may be recommended for queen and king size log beds. The need for these mattress supports depends on your current mattress & box spring setup. If you have a standard mattress and box spring you should be fine without the extra supports. They may be ordered later separately should you find you need them.

Some smaller items ship via FedEx or UPS Ground and take 5 business days in transit.

Most Larger items will be delivered by Motor Freight Truck, with Curbside Delivery Service and will take 5-10 days in transit. Lift-gate Service, Indoor Delivery or White Glove Services are not included but may be available in select areas for an additional charge. Please call to inquire (866) 564-3876.

Occasionally, if you live in a very rural or inaccessible area, Free Delivery will not be available to your home. If this is the rare case we can work with the Trucking Company to arrange for you to pick up your order at a local terminal free of charge, or we can arrange for an inline carrier to deliver to your home at an additional charge. Please notify us in advance if your address is inaccessible to a Freight Truck and we will work with you to find alternate solutions.

When items ship motor freight, in most cases you will be notified 24 hours in advance of you scheduled delivery date and time. All items must be inspected for damage prior to signing the freight bill. If the driver will not wait for you to inspect the shipment please write on the freight bill: "driver will not wait to inspect for damage". Failure to do so may prohibit us from being able to replace the damaged pieces at no charge to you.

So, how is Rustic Natural Cedar Furniture environmentally responsible?

Wood is renewable - The cedar for our furniture is cut from forests in Canada. The largest trees are targeted as they have the most pulp and they convert the least amount of Co2 to Oxygen. Clearing of old growth allows for younger growth to flourish and convert more Carbon dioxide. We never clear cut and Cedar is plentiful throughout Canada.

We use the entire tree - Limbs and cuttings are turned into different cedar products, such as mulch, oils, and cedar chips. The trunk is used for fencing components and shingles and the smaller pieces are used to make our furniture.

Quality furniture lasts - Unlike plastic, bamboo, or some metal furniture, our log furniture is durable and will last many years. Our solid construction holds up in any climate, year round. Our devotion to quality saves them money and prevents more energy and landfill space from being used.

Wood Biodegrades - At the end of its long and useful life, Rustic's furniture won't occupy any landfill space. Wood breaks down very quickly in landfills, less than 25 years. Plastics can take up to a millennium to decompose.

Reduced pollution - We reduce our carbon footprint and pollution by strategic placement of our facilities. We have a mill in Quebec, Canada, in the type of climate that cedar flourishes. We only have one distribution center in Rhode Island, USA. The forests are very close to the mill and the distribution center is only 6 hours away. From the warehouse, we ship directly to the end user, reducing the number of times that the order is shipped. This logistics system minimizes the number of times that a product is shipped, therefore reducing our carbon output.

No Chemicals - We leave our furniture with a finely sanded, untreated, finish. Since we don't use any chemical treatments, this prevents harsh chemicals from leeching into the ground and water supplies. We don't apply any stains and our furniture doesn't need them; left untreated, our furniture turns a pleasing silver-gray with exposure to sunlight.
